Naga Chaitanya told ‘countdown to my wedding has started’, opens up about wedding plans with Shobhita Dhulipala

After a video of Naga Chaitanya dressed as a groom and accompanying the wedding procession sparked speculation on social media, the actor revealed about his wedding plans to Shobhita Dhulipala.
Actor Naga Chaitanya took the internet by storm on Tuesday when a video of him dressed as a groom started circulating online. The actor’s fans were left confused as they thought that the actor, who recently got engaged to Shobhita Dhulipala, was getting married. But, it was not so. The actor was present to launch the wedding collection of a clothing brand and spoke to media persons at the event. Chai admitted that it was a “countdown to my wedding”, but did not reveal further details about the date and location of her wedding.
At the event, when Naga Chaitanya was asked if it was like a rehearsal for his upcoming wedding with Shobhita, he said, “Maybe you can think of it as a countdown to my wedding.” He was also asked whether he wants a big Indian wedding or a simple wedding, the actor shared, “Marriage is about the people who mean a lot to me. It shouldn’t be a big pompous wedding, rather people keep cultures and traditions in mind, so that’s how I want it (the wedding) to be.”
Naga Chaitanya was also asked about the date and venue of his wedding with Shobhita, and the actor said that nothing has been decided yet. On 8 August, the engagement of Shobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya took place at her house.
Chaitanya’s father Nagarjuna Akkineni had also officially announced the engagement on social media, welcoming Shobhita into his family. In an earlier conversation with Times Now, the veteran actor had said that Chai and Shobhita decided to get engaged in a hurry because it was an auspicious date. “We chose this day because it was very auspicious. Both the families consulted the nakshatras and when we were told that August 8 was a very auspicious day, we decided to go ahead with it,” he said.
Naga Chaitanya was previously married to actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the lovebirds got married in 2017 and separated in 2021.
