Naga Vamsi Acquires Telugu Theatrical Rights for War 2 Featuring Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan

In a major acquisition ahead of one of the year’s most anticipated releases, producer S. Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments has secured the Telugu theatrical distribution rights for War 2, starring Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan. The deal, reportedly finalized at ₹80 crore, underscores the film’s high commercial expectations in the Telugu-speaking regions.

War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is the latest installment in Yash Raj Films’ expanding spy universe and serves as a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War. The film marks Jr NTR’s Hindi film debut and features Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as Kabir. Kiara Advani also joins the cast in a pivotal role.

Initially, Yash Raj Films had considered handling the Telugu release independently. However, given Jr NTR’s immense popularity in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the studio opted to collaborate with a regional distributor. Vamsi, who previously acquired the rights for Jr NTR’s Devara, was seen as a strategic choice to ensure wide reach and effective promotion.

The film is slated for a pan-India theatrical release on August 14, 2025, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. A high-energy dance number featuring Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan, choreographed by Bosco Martis and composed by Pritam, is currently being filmed in Mumbai with over 500 background dancers.

The teaser for War 2, released on Jr NTR’s birthday, has already generated significant buzz, offering glimpses of intense action sequences and high-stakes drama. With its star-studded cast and franchise pedigree, the film is poised to be a major box office draw across multiple markets.
