Nani’s HIT: The Third Case storms the box office with ₹18 crore opening, second only to Dasara

Telugu superstar Nani has delivered yet another blockbuster with HIT: The Third Case, which raked in ₹18 crore on its opening day. The crime thriller, directed by Sailesh Kolanu, marks Nani’s second-highest opener, trailing only behind Dasara, which had a ₹23.2 crore debut.

The film saw impressive 87.98% occupancy in Telugu-speaking regions, with morning shows at 79%, afternoon shows peaking at 92%, and evening and night shows maintaining strong numbers at 91% and 88%, respectively.

Compared to its predecessor, HIT: The Second Case, which had an opening of ₹6.4 crore, HIT 3 has tripled its prequel’s earnings. The film follows SP Arjun Sarkaar, played by Nani, as he investigates a series of brutal murders in Jammu and Kashmir.

Early reviews have praised Nani’s intense performance, with some calling it his best yet. However, opinions remain divided, with some viewers feeling the investigation sequences lacked emotional depth.

With a strong start at the box office, HIT 3 is expected to maintain momentum over the weekend.
