Nepal bans screening of Hindi movies

Ever since its release, Om Raut’s film ‘Adipurush’ has been trolled on social media. The dialogue of this film has created a lot of noise on social media, which has also created controversy. Due to this, the screening of Indian films has been banned in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah passed the order on Sunday.

It comes to know that after the release of the movie ‘Adipurush’ starring Prabhas, the complications started. Because in the dialogue of this movie, Sita is called the daughter of India. Three days ago, the mayor requested the director to remove the dialogue from the movie.

The mayor has taken this step because the dialogue has not been deleted so far. Because they consider Sita to be the daughter of King Janak of Janakpur.
Regarding the issue, Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah said, three days ago I called the director of the movie ‘Adipurush’ and requested him to delete the offensive part. Protecting Nepal’s sovereignty, independence, and self-respect is the first duty of the country’s government, non-governmental organizations and every citizen.

If the objectionable part is not removed from the movie, no Indian movie will be screened in any theater in Kathmandu City Corporation area.
In the meantime, orders have been issued in all theaters in Kathmandu not to screen any Indian movies. A total of 17 theaters have released Indian movies.
It should be noted that ‘Adipurush’ was released on June 16. The movie with a budget of Rs 500 crore has received mixed response from the audience.
