Amazon Prime Video has officially announced the fifth season of its critically acclaimed comedy-drama series Panchayat, confirming that the new installment will premiere in 2026. The announcement follows the overwhelming success of Season 4, which debuted on June 24, 2025, and delivered the franchise’s strongest opening to date.
Created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and written by Chandan Kumar, Panchayat has become a cultural phenomenon for its authentic portrayal of rural life, witty storytelling, and heartfelt performances. The series is produced by The Viral Fever (TVF) and features a stellar ensemble cast including Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, and Sanvikaa.
Season 5 is currently in development, with the storyline expected to pick up from the dramatic conclusion of Season 4. Key unresolved plot points—such as the identity of Pradhan Ji’s assailant, the future of Abhishek Tripathi’s MBA aspirations, and the evolving dynamics under Kranti Devi’s leadership—are anticipated to be central to the upcoming season.
The announcement was made via Prime Video’s official social media channels, accompanied by a poster featuring the lead cast and the caption: “Hi 5! Phulera waapas aane ki taiyyaari shuru kar lijiye. #PanchayatOnPrime, New Season, Coming Soon”.
Fans and critics alike have praised Panchayat for its nuanced storytelling and relatable characters. The series previously won the Best Web Series (OTT) award at the 54th International Film Festival of India in 2023.
With Season 5 set to continue the journey of Phulera’s residents, anticipation is high for another chapter of humor, heart, and rural intrigue.
Want a crisp headline version or a Bengali adaptation for your regional audience, Mithun? I’d be glad to tailor it.
