Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has responded to fans who hailed him as the sole hero of the Hera Pheri franchise, emphasizing that the film has three heroes—himself, Akshay Kumar, and Suniel Shetty. His statement comes amid ongoing speculation about his exit from Hera Pheri 3 and a reported legal dispute with Akshay Kumar’s production house.
A fan on X (formerly Twitter) urged Rawal to reconsider his decision to leave Hera Pheri 3, calling him the “hero” of the film. Rawal swiftly corrected the fan, replying:
“NO … There are Three Heroes in Hera Pheri.”
His response reinforced the importance of the trio that made the franchise iconic.
Rawal’s departure from the film has sparked controversy, with reports suggesting that he left due to creative differences. However, Rawal clarified that his decision was not due to disagreements with director Priyadarshan, stating:
“I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENTS WITH THE FILMMAKER. I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan.”
Rawal’s exit has reportedly led to a Rs 25 crore lawsuit filed by Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films. The company claims that Rawal’s sudden withdrawal has caused financial losses and disrupted the film’s production schedule.
In response, Rawal’s legal team has issued a formal statement defending his rightful termination from the project. Reports indicate that Rawal has returned Rs 11 lakh, which he received as a signing fee, along with 15% annual interest and additional compensation.
