Parvathy Thiruvothu to Headline Don Palathara’s Next Film Alongside Dileesh Pothan

National Award-winning actor Parvathy Thiruvothu is set to lead acclaimed filmmaker Don Palathara’s upcoming Malayalam feature, marking her first collaboration with both Palathara and actor-director Dileesh Pothan. The project brings together three of Malayalam cinema’s most distinctive creative forces for a film described as emotionally layered and introspective.

Known for his minimalist storytelling and deep explorations of human relationships, Don Palathara has previously directed critically acclaimed films such as 1956, Central Travancore, Santhoshathinte Onnam Rahasyam, and Family. His cinematic style, often rooted in realism and quiet reflection, is expected to complement Parvathy’s nuanced performances.

Dileesh Pothan, celebrated for his directorial work in Maheshinte Prathikaram, Joji, and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, will appear in a key acting role alongside Parvathy. This marks a rare on-screen pairing of two powerhouse performers under Palathara’s direction.

While plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to be shot extensively across Kerala and will begin production later this year. Speaking about the collaboration, Parvathy said, “Don Palathara’s films reflect how we live and love, often without judgment or noise. To step into that kind of world as an actor is a privilege.”

The film is being produced by Jomon Jacob, with cinematography by Alex Joseph, who previously worked with Palathara on 1956, Central Travancore. Supporting cast members include Rajesh Madhavan and Arjun Radhakrishnan.

This project is being closely watched by cinephiles and industry insiders, as it promises to deliver a compelling narrative shaped by some of the finest talents in contemporary Malayalam cinema.
