Pathaan becomes first movie in the history of 33 years to have houseful shows in Kashmir

Citizens of Kashmir were seen standing in long queues to watch SRK’s recently released movie ‘Pathaan’, the first movie in the state’s 33-year history to have a house-full show. Vikas Dhar, owner of the only multiplex theater in Kashmir, said that the total shows of the spy thriller were housefull on the first day of its release on Wednesday.

Dhar established his multiplex theatre in the year 2022 in September. The theatre consists of 3 screens along with an accommodation of 520 seats.

Besting Boycott Call with the song “Beshram Rang”, “Pathaan” set the box office on fire, grossing Rs 219.6 crore worldwide in two days. The film was released on January 25 amid tight security across the country.

Dhar says like in other parts of the country, the criticism has had almost no effect on the direction of the film. “Everybody comes here for entertainment,” he said.
