Actress Pooja Banerjee is currently playing the role of Rhea Mehra in Balaji’s hit show Kumkum Bhagya. She has replaced actress Naina Singh, who played the role for 6 years.

We asked her if she faced comparisons with Naina on replacing her as Rhea? She said, “Not at all, because I have my own individuality. People have seen me as an actress for a very good time. In fact, my comparison was more between Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kumkum Bhagya
She also talked about Kumkum Bhagya’s popularity. “The positivity on set. Nobody has ego issues. Everybody wants the scenes to be better. Each actor helps the other actor to perform better. Everybody will stay for the other and not go back to the make-up room. It is no necessary for them to do it, but in comparison to other sets here everybody does it out of choice, which helps the scenes to look better and perform naturally.
She said, “The best part about Kasautii was that we all were great friends, it was as good as going back to college. It was fun and so much love. I really miss being on the sets of Kasautii.”

On Kasautii Zindagii Kay, the actress met Hina Khan, who played Komolika, and instantaneously developed a ‘crazy’ bond with her. Pooja said, “It is a crazy bond that Hina and I share with each other. A person like Hina is an example of how to be humble, grounded, and extremely sorted in the position she is in. She handles all her work very meticulously. It is very important to be well planned, well organised and she is a perfect example of having a good career, good family life and her me time. I had never thought that one day I will be so fond of her.”
Pooja, who was initially apprehensive about playing grey characters, said, “More than the positive roles, the negative roles landed me in a better position. Probably, I have gotten dues more as a negative character than as a positive character on the screen
