A powerful remote control Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found planted in front of a shop in Manipur’s Imphal East district late Monday night.
The IED was found planted in front of Sabana Enterprises, a shop at Khestrigao under Porompat police station of Imphal East district last night, around 11.30 pm.
Locals who found a suspicious object lying in front of the shop immediately informed the police.
Police who rushed to the spot called out experts of the state police bomb detection and disposal squad who safely defused the same in the wee hour of today.
Later, the remote control IED was destroyed in a controlled explosion on Tuesday morning, around 9 am, a senior police officer said. (Correspondent)
