Prithviraj recently met Rajinikanth and showed him the trailer of his upcoming film L2: Empuraan.
Actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran has often spoken about how he received a call from superstar Rajinikanth after the release of his 2007 film Mozhi.
In fact, two decades after that phone call, after turning director with Mohanlal’s Lucifer (2019), Prithviraj got the opportunity to narrate a script to Rajinikanth and direct him in a Tamil film. However, the project did not materialise due to several reasons, including Prithviraj’s belief that they were not ready with the right kind of script for Rajinikanth.
Nevertheless, Prithviraj recently met Rajinikanth and showed him the trailer of his upcoming film L2: Empuraan. And what makes it even more special? Rajinikanth was the first person to watch the much-awaited trailer of this Mohanlal starrer.
Sharing a photo of himself with Rajinikanth, Prithviraj wrote, “First person to watch the trailer of L2: Empuraan. I will always cherish what you said after watching it, Sir! It means a lot to me! Fanboy forever!.”
Empuraan, which was scheduled to release on March 27, faced setbacks due to financial disputes on the part of the producers. Due to the problems faced by Lyca Productions, Gokulam Gopalan of Sri Gokulam Movies stepped in to resolve it and ensure a smooth release as planned.
After clearing all the hurdles, the cast and crew of L2: Empuraan have begun promotions, and the trailer is expected to release soon, especially when less than ten days are left for the release of Empuraan.
Starring Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran and Nyla Usha in the first part, Empuraan also features Suraj Venjaramoodu, Abhimanyu Singh and Jerome Flynn in the film’s star cast. The film is expected to release in theatres on March 27 in multiple languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
Prithviraj Sukumaran said Rajinikanth is the first person to watch Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan trailer: ‘I will always cherish what you said…’
