Bollywood actor John Abraham has opened up about the deliberate choices that have helped him maintain a peaceful and controversy-free marriage with investment banker Priya Runchal. Married since 2014, the couple has consistently kept their personal life away from the public eye, a rarity in the entertainment industry.
In a recent interview, Abraham emphasized that the foundation of their relationship lies in mutual respect, shared values, and a conscious decision to maintain privacy. He revealed that he has never employed a publicist or agent to promote his personal life, choosing instead to retreat from the spotlight once his professional commitments conclude.
“I believe my personal life is separate from my films,” Abraham stated. “Once my work is done, I step away from the media and only speak when I have something meaningful to say.”
The actor also shared insights into his disciplined lifestyle, which includes early mornings, reading global news, and abstaining from alcohol—a choice influenced by his father’s fondness for single malt whisky. He noted that he has never enjoyed loud parties and avoids them entirely, even before his marriage.
Priya Runchal, who also values discretion, complements Abraham’s low-profile approach. Her preference for privacy and focus on her professional life have contributed to the stability of their relationship. Abraham praised her intellect and poise, describing himself as “very lucky” to have her as a partner.
Outside of films, Abraham dedicates time to his football academy in Shillong and scriptwriting. His next project, Tehran, an action-thriller co-starring Neeru Bajwa and Manushi Chhillar, is set to release on August 15 on Zee5.
