Puja Banerjee Verma and Kunal Verma recently organised their son Krishiv’s rice ceremony in Mumbai. The actress, who was last seen in Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi – Kahani Mata Rani Ki, said, “My son is now six months old, so we thought of doing his rice ceremony. Though my parents are with me in Mumbai now, all my relatives are in Durgapur and they couldn’t travel in this pandemic because of restrictions. They all missed being a part of Krishiv’s rice ceremony celebrations. So did Kunal’s relatives. My sister-in-law stays in Bangalore and she too couldn’t be part of the celebrations. Few friends and relatives came over on my son’s rice ceremony to bless him. And we treated all with Bengali cuisine. We plan to celebrate it in a big way once the situation gets better.” So, has motherhood changed Puja? “It is a different feeling altogether and I enjoy each day. Motherhood is a bliss. It calms you down as a person and makes you more responsible. I was a late riser but now my sleep routine has gone for a toss, courtesy of my son’s schedule. but I am not complaining. It is so much fun watching him grow each day,” said Puja.
Puja’s last Tollywood was in Aniket Chattopadhyay’s Hoichoi Unlimited, where she was cast opposite Dev. “It’s been ages I have not been to Kolkata. In between, I got a film offer, but the film got pushed because of the pandemic,” she rued.
