Ranbir Kapoor confirms Brahmastra 2 pre-production to start post War 2 completion

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva became a box office sensation upon its release in 2022. The film ended with a captivating teaser for its sequel, Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev, leaving audiences eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this epic saga. Now, fans’ excitement has reached new heights as Ranbir Kapoor shares a significant update: director Ayan Mukerji will commence pre-production for the highly awaited sequel following the completion of War 2.

During a recent media interaction in Mumbai, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt engaged with fans, where Ranbir unveiled the exciting news about Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev. He shared, “Brahmastra 2 is something that Ayan has been nurturing as a dream for a very long time—the entire story of Brahmastra. As you guys know, he is currently working on War 2. Once that film releases, he is going to start pre-production on Brahmastra 2.”

Reassuring fans, Ranbir emphasized that Brahmastra 2 is well underway. “It is definitely happening. While we haven’t announced much yet, we will be sharing some exciting updates about Brahmastra 2 soon,” he added. Released in 2022, Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva is the first installment of a planned trilogy, inspired by Indian mythology and centered around a larger cinematic universe. The story follows Shiva (played by Ranbir), a young man with extraordinary powers, as he embarks on a quest to uncover cosmic secrets and his ultimate destiny. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen next in Love & War alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film is slated for a theatrical release on March 20, 2026. Additionally, Ranbir will star in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana adaptation, sharing the screen with Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, and Arun Govil. The first installment is expected to debut during Diwali 2026, followed by its sequel in 2027.
