Ranbir Kapoor-Starrer ‘Ramayana Part 1’ Emerges as Most Anticipated Film of 2026

Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic Ramayana Part 1 has been ranked as the most anticipated Indian film for the second half of 2026, according to the latest IMDb list based on user interest and page views.

The 20-title list was compiled using data from IMDb’s more than 250 million monthly global visitors between January 1 and June 28. It features Indian films scheduled for theatrical or streaming release between July and December 2026 across multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada.

Ramayana Part 1 stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, making it one of the most high-profile projects of the year. Yash also appears again on the list at number three with Toxic.

At the second position is Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, while Shah Rukh Khan’s action film King secured the fourth spot.

Ajay Devgn features twice in the top six with the comedy sequel Dhamaal 4 at number five and the crime thriller sequel Drishyam 3 at number six.

The list also includes the big-screen expansion of the popular crime franchise Mirzapur with Mirzapur: The Movie ranking eighth. Sunny Deol’s Ikka is placed at number twelve and stands out as the only direct-to-streaming release in the top 20.

The rankings reflect strong audience anticipation for a mix of mythological epics, action dramas and franchise-based films across Indian cinema.
