Rhea Chakraborty Reflects on Public Trolling During The Traitors Season 2

Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty has opened up about her difficult public journey while appearing on Prime Video’s reality show The Traitors Season 2, saying she cannot afford to take on the role of a Traitor because of the intense trolling she has faced in the past. In the fifth episode, Rhea was among contestants suspected of being a Traitor alongside Parul Gulati and Krystle D’Souza. Defending herself, she said that being portrayed as someone who “murders” others on the show could invite further online abuse and memes. Referring to the scrutiny surrounding the 2020 death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, whom she was dating, Rhea said the public had already viewed her as a “Traitor” in her personal life despite her maintaining that she was innocent. She described herself as one of the most trolled people in the country and urged fellow contestants to reconsider targeting her. Rhea had faced allegations related to abetment to suicide and a drug-related case during the investigation into Rajput’s death. She was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in September 2020 and later released on bail. In March 2025, the CBI closed its investigation into Rajput’s death, citing insufficient evidence and clearing Rhea and her brother Shovik of wrongdoing in the case.
