Shafin Ahmed of ‘Miles’ fame passed away due to sudden illness before the concert

In the 90s, his songs almost failed to respond in both Bengals. That voice is silent today. ‘Miles’ is one of the names in the world of Bengali rock bands. Singer and founding member of that band, Shafin Ahmed, passed away. The 63-year-old singer died in an American hospital on Thursday morning. His death was confirmed by his brother Hamin. Right now the family members have crossed over to America to bring the artist’s body back to the country.

Shafin went to perform a program in America on July 20. The singer fell ill before the show. That is why the event was cancelled. He was admitted to the hospital that day. After this, his various organs started to fail. He was being treated on life support. But the last defense was not done, said Hamin.

Shafin was born on February 14, 1961. Mother is legendary vocalist Feroza Begum, and father is musician Kamal Dasgupta. Growing up in the environment of music from childhood. In his childhood, he learned Akhang Sangeet from his father and Nazrul Geeti from his mother. Later in the nineties, he formed the band ‘Miles’ with his brother. After being associated with this band for a long time, Shafin separated. Founded a new band called ‘Rhythm of Life’.
