It took a long period for the actor to figure out the path from a chocolate boy to the intense role in movies these days. His perception changed after the movie Jab We Met. That image change was supported by roles like in Kaminey and then Haider was a complete game-changer.
During an interview the actor shared the piece of advice given by his father in the initial days of bollywood. He shared, “My dad once told me, ‘Beta, abhi tum kar lo yeh sab – cute boy, romantic and all – par jis din tum acting karna shuru kar doge na, tab aisa lagega ki sher ke muh mein khoon lag gaya hai, phir tumhe baar baar waise hi kirdaar karne ka mann karega. It has turned out to be just the way.”
