Shruti Haasan express she went from travelling in a Mercedes to travelling in Mumbai locals after parents Kamal Haasan-Sarika’s divorce

Shruti candidly admitted that even though she was not entitled, there was a kind of attitude in her behaviour, which changed completely after she became humble.
Kamal Haasan and Sarika’s elder daughter Shruti Haasan has starred in some popular films across various industries and has a great music career too.
Shruti has acknowledged her privileges in the past and in a recent interview she spoke about how her parents’ separation had made her “humble” as she saw a life that was devoid of any kind of luxury.
Speaking to Filmfare, she said, “I was very saddened by my parents’ separation. When we moved from Chennai to Mumbai, it wasn’t like we moved from one mansion to another.
It wasn’t really comfortable in Mumbai. But I’m glad I got these lessons. There was a sudden change from travelling everywhere in a Mercedes to taking the local train, and I realised how we could learn from both these journeys.”
Shruti revealed that after spending a few years away from Chennai, she dared to make some improvements in her personal life as well. “I had reconnected with Appa by then, and moved abroad to study music,” Shruti said.
She added that her goal was to be financially independent without showing any sense of entitlement. The Salaar actor candidly admitted that even though she may not be entitled, there was a kind of attitude in her behaviour.
“Honestly, it was not because I thought I was better but because I felt inferior to everyone around me. I think there was a fear inside me and even though I was showing confidence, I was shaking inside for many years,” Shruti said, sharing how her attitude gradually changed after she learnt to be humble. “I realised that the more humble I became, the better behaved I was and I had a lot more confidence.”
