Shruti Haasan Joins Dulquer Salmaan in Upcoming Telugu Film ‘Aakasamlo Oka Tara’

Hyderabad, August 20, 2025 — Acclaimed actress Shruti Haasan has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Telugu-language film Aakasamlo Oka Tara, starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. Directed by Pavan Sadineni and produced by Sandeep Gunnam and Ramya Gunnam under Lightbox Media, the film is presented by Swapna Cinema and Geetha Arts.

The project, which has already completed shooting schedules in Gujarat, Rajahmundry, and Hyderabad, is positioned as a breezy entertainer with a quirky plotline. Shruti Haasan, fresh off the success of Coolie, is said to be drawn to the film’s intriguing script and her character’s edgy design. Sources close to the production describe her role as “filled with spunk and typical Shruti Haasan swag,” combining elegance with eccentricity to leave a lasting impression on audiences.

Shruti joins Satvika Veeravalli, who was previously confirmed as part of the cast. The film’s title, Aakasamlo Oka Tara (translating to “A Star in the Sky”), is inspired by a song from the 1986 Telugu film Simhasanam. The first glimpse of the film was unveiled on Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday, July 28, showcasing serene visuals and the actor’s composed screen presence.

Following the blockbuster success of Mahanati, Sita Ramam, and Lucky Baskhar, Dulquer Salmaan continues to expand his footprint in Tollywood, having signed four Telugu films in the past three years. With Shruti Haasan now on board, Aakasamlo Oka Tara is expected to generate heightened anticipation among fans and trade circles alike.

The film is slated for release in multiple languages, including Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi, further underscoring its pan-Indian appeal.
