Siddhant Chaturvedi and Trupti Dimri to star in Dhadak 2, Karan Johar calls love story ‘different’

Karan Johar has confirmed Siddhant Chaturvedi and Trupti Dimri’s film Dhadak 2 through his social media handle. The film is concentrating by Shazia Iqbal.
Days after fans speculated that Karan Johar is preparing to announce Dhadak 2 with a new cast; Siddhant Chaturvedi revealed in an Instagram post that he will be seen in the sequel of the 2018 Dharma Productions film. Sharing an animated teaser poster, the Inside Edge actor wrote, “One King, One Queen, and One Story – 2 Dhadakne #Dhadak2 in theaters 22nd November 2024.” The teaser also reveals that Animal actor Tripti Dimri will be seen opposite Siddhant.
Dhadak, a remake of the Marathi film Sairat, was the launchpad for Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar in Bollywood.
Produced by Zee Studios, Dharma Productions and Cloud 9 Pictures, Dhadak 2 is scheduled to release on November 22, 2024. As speculated, the film will be directed by Shazia Iqbal. According to the makers, Dhadak 2 promises an undeniable story that explores love and challenges social norms. The entertaining motion poster features themes like “Dalit Lives Matter” and “Educate, Agitate, Organize.”
The film follows Siddhant’s character as he delivers a love story that breaks social expectations and class barriers, promising a journey filled with romance, drama and emotions that will appeal to audiences around the world. In keeping with the theme of the original film, Dhadak 2 will also focus on caste-based discrimination that will act as a hindrance in Siddhant and Tripti’s love story. As soon as the teaser came out, fans started speculating, “Will this pair find a way to be together?”
Karan Johar also took to his Instagram handle to make the official announcement. “This story is a little different because there was a king, a queen, different castes, end of story. Introducing Dhadak 2 starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Trupti Dimri and Conducted by Shazia Iqbal. #Dhadak2 in theaters 22nd November 2024,” he captioned the post.
