Siddharth Pithani, who was a close friend of late Sushant Singh Rajput, has applied for bail citing his wedding as one of the reasons. Pithani was arrested for his alleged links in a drug case. He was traced by the NCB through his social media post and arrested from Hyderabad on May 28.
His lawyer Taraq Sayed informs, “He has applied for regular bail but his marriage is scheduled for June 26. The hearing of the bail application is on June 16. I will appeal to the honourable judge to give him interim bail so that he can get married and come back and surrender and the regular procedure for bail can continue”.
NCB however, isn’t aware about Pithani’s marriage plans. Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede says, “We were told about the engagement but there was no mention of the marriage to us. All this has got nothing to do with our case”.
Siddharth Pithani was the first person to find the actor hanging in his bedroom and also lowered his body even before the family members of Sushant Singh Rajput arrived at his residence on June 14.
Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and other staff members including Samuel Miranda and Deepesh Sawant were also arrested by the NCB. They have hinted at Siddharth Pithani’s involvement in the drug case.
SSR passed away on June 14 last year and the subsequent investigation by the police and other judicial authorities has been going on for the past year. There’s still a lot of speculation around this case, with Sushant’s family pursuing multiple cases in court.
