For the last few days, social media and trade circles have been buzzing with one big claim that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will make a surprise cameo in Allu Arjun and director Atlee’s upcoming magnum opus Raaka . Multiple reports even went a step further, saying that SRK’s portions for the film would be filmed abroad.
But we can now put those rumours to rest.
Sources close to the production have firmly denied the reports. According to them, Shah Rukh Khan was never approached for Raaka simply because there is no cameo role written into the script in the first place.
“Atlee and Shah Rukh share a fantastic bond after Jawan and the director would definitely love to collaborate with him again in the future. But as far as Raaka is concerned, the reports of SRK doing a cameo are completely baseless,” a source close to the project told us.
Shooting for the Sun Pictures fantasy actioner is currently in full swing and being done in multiple short schedules.
The team just wrapped up a high-octane action schedule last week. The next schedule kicks off tomorrow in Mumbai, where Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone are set to shoot some crucial sequences.
With Deepika expected to go on a maternity break next month, Atlee and the makers are reportedly prioritizing wrapping up all her key portions first.
If everything goes as per plan, principal photography should be completed by the end of this year. That would set up Raaka for what is being planned as a grand theatrical release in late 2027.
Trade portal Bollywood Hungama recently reported that the makers are toying with the idea of releasing Raaka in two parts, given its massive and layered storyline.
Described as a large-scale fantasy action film set in a parallel universe, Raaka boasts a pan-India star cast. Along with Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, the film also features Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Mandanna, and Janhvi Kapoor in pivotal roles. Veteran actors Ramya Krishnan, comedian Yogi Babu, and Jim Sarbh round out the ensemble.
While he isn’t part of Raaka SRK isn’t sitting idle either. The superstar is expected to fly out later this month for the final overseas schedule of his next big film King.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the action thriller is in the last leg of production and is still on track for a Christmas 2026 release.
So for now, fans hoping for an Allu Arjun x Shah Rukh Khan screen moment in Raaka will have to wait. The cameo isn’t happening.
