The Telangana government has announced the prestigious Gaddar Film Awards, recognizing cinematic excellence from 2014 to 2023. Among the celebrated films, SS Rajamouli’s epic blockbusters ‘Bahubali-2’ and ‘RRR’ have been honored for their outstanding contribution to Telugu cinema.
The awards were selected by a jury headed by veteran actor and producer Murali Mohan, who also announced winners across multiple categories. The Gaddar Film Awards, named after the late folk singer and activist Gaddar, aim to recognize exceptional storytelling, technical brilliance, and cultural impact in Telugu cinema.
The Telangana government revived these awards after a decade-long gap, following the discontinuation of the Nandi Film Awards post-state bifurcation in 2014. The decision to name the awards after Gaddar was widely appreciated by the film fraternity, with industry leaders praising the government’s commitment to honoring cinematic achievements.
