Stranger Things Season 5: First Two Episodes Finalized, Creators Tease “Wildest Cold Open” Yet

The creators of Stranger Things have officially locked the first two episodes of the highly anticipated fifth and final season, promising fans an electrifying start to the series’ conclusion. Ross Duffer, co-creator of the Netflix phenomenon, shared the update via Instagram, revealing that Episodes 1 and 2—titled The Crawl and The Vanishing of…—are “locked, mixed, scored, colored, DONE”.

Duffer described The Crawl as the most eventful opening since Season 1, while The Vanishing of… is said to feature the “wildest cold open” the show has ever produced. Though the full title of Episode 2 remains under wraps, speculation among fans points to the possible disappearance of Holly Wheeler, a minor but recurring character.

The fifth season will be released in three volumes:

  • Volume 1 (Episodes 1–4): November 26, 2025
  • Volume 2 (Episodes 5–7): December 25, 202
  • Finale: December 31, 2025

The storyline will follow Eleven and her friends as they confront Vecna and his army of Demogorgons in a final battle to save Hawkins and humanity from the Upside Down. The creators have hinted at a high-stakes, emotionally charged narrative, with returning cast members including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, and Jamie Campbell Bower.

With post-production complete on the opening chapters and teasers already fueling fan theories, Stranger Things Season 5 is shaping up to be the franchise’s most ambitious and dramatic installment yet.
