Sunny Deol, who recently broke his box office jinx with Gadar 2, was emotional and teary-eyed while talking about his film journey at the ongoing 54th International Film Festival of India in Panaji, Goa.
When director and producer Rahul Rawail asked Sunny about his journey and working with acclaimed directors, the actor said that he was indeed very lucky.
The only problem is that he gets too emotional when talking about his career.
He feels very lucky that he started with Rahul who gave him three beautiful films including Betaab and Arjun. He said some films worked, some didn’t but till today people remember those films and mentioned that he is standing here for this film.
Recalling his lows, Sunny said that after his massive hit Gadar, he started struggling for good subjects and scripts and things didn’t fall into place. There was a gap of 20 years even though some of these films were made.
But Sunny never gave up and kept moving forward. “I joined films because I wanted to be an actor, not a star. I saw my father’s films and I also wanted to do films of that variety,” he added.
Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, who was present at the discussion, said he believes the industry has not done justice to Sunny’s talent but God has. Sunny was overcome with emotion and literally broke down in tears and said that she was overwhelmed by the love she received from people.
