Suranjan Dey a journalist by profession, has made two short films even in the busyness of journalism. The first is the film ‘Unlucky Shirt’, with the story, screenplay, and dialogue of Pradeep Acharya. This film will reflect the economic downturn and depression that has been created all over the world due to the covid pandemic. It’s basically a love story in lockdown, two lovers used to talk on the telephone. Argument, debate, and love were all there. In the unlocked episode, the girlfriend wanted to meet the boyfriend urgently. The boyfriend was wearing that shirt during the meeting. And with this shirt is the climax of the film. Starring Suparna Kumar, Riddhiban Bandyopadhyay, Dr. Bhanu Bhushan Khatua, Tuhin Shankar Pal, Nilimesh Ghosh Dastidar, Kank Ghosh Dastidar, Ashish Ghosh, and director Suranjan Dey himself. A Rabindra Sangeet has been used in this film. The song is sung by Suparna Kumar.
Suranjan’s second film is ‘Phand’. This film is based on Biplab Majumdar’s story ‘Andhokarer Oboyab’. Indrani Mukhopadhyay and Sayon Ghatak Mukhepadhyay in screenplays and dialogues.
