Surbhi Chandna: I was compared with previous naagins, but I took it in my stride
‘Naagin 5’ lead actress Surbhi Chandna shared a heartfelt note on the last day of shoot on her social media account. The actress, in an exclusive chat with BT, spoke about how the show transformed her, comparisons with previous naagins and her chemistry with Sharad Malhotra.
The show transformed me completely — physically and professionally. Naagins from the previous seasons had set a bar and I had to match it. Also, what new I would be bringing to the show was on my mind when I started. I had to leave my previous shows’ experiences behind and learn news things. Bani had to behave like a normal girl and yet show her strength and power as the aadinaagin. So, I only gained professionally and personally through this show.
I feel when two good-looking people are cast in a show, sparks fly on screen. Sharad is a good-looking actor, I am also decent looking (laughs) Veeranshu was the badass guy in the beginning and Bani is the righteous one, so that helped the chemistry shine. We had many romantic scenes but our director Ranjan Kumar Singh and the entire team is so technically sound, that even if we were apprehensive, it was all good after we finished the scene. We used to complete a romantic scene and break into laughter, so it was fun. Besides Sharad is a great buddy, so it was fun working with him and Mohit Sehgal was also a great co-actor.
