Mumbai, August 22 — Following their ensemble performance in the 2024 comedy-drama Khel Khel Mein, actors Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, and Fardeen Khan are set to reunite for a new film titled Zamana Kya Kahega. The project will be produced by filmmaker Mudassar Aziz and directed by acclaimed cinematographer Amit Roy, marking his directorial debut.
According to industry sources, Zamana Kya Kahega is a high-concept situational comedy in the vein of Aziz’s earlier hit Happy Bhaag Jayegi. The film will feature a series of escalating events that lead to humorous outcomes, with the trio at the center of the chaos. The concept was reportedly discussed during the filming of Khel Khel Mein, and the actors have been on board since then.
Production is scheduled to begin in September 2025 with a start-to-finish shooting schedule. The film will be shot across locations in India and the United Kingdom, and is slated for a theatrical release in 2026.
Amit Roy, known for his cinematography in films such as Dunki, Animal, and Deva, will helm the project. His transition to direction is being closely watched by industry insiders, given his visual storytelling expertise.
In Khel Khel Mein, Taapsee and Ammy portrayed a married couple entangled in a revealing game of secrets, while Fardeen played a cricket coach whose personal revelation added depth to the narrative. Their chemistry and comic timing were well received, making their reunion a promising prospect for audiences and distributors alike.
Mudassar Aziz, who is also working on another directorial venture titled Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, continues to expand his footprint as a producer with Zamana Kya Kahega, his third production after Happy Bhaag Jayegi and Double XL.
