Veteran Bengali actress Swatilekha Sengupta dies at 72

Veteran actress Swatilekha Sengupta died at the age of 72, on Wednesday at 2.45 pm at a private hospital in Kolkata. She was the matriarch of Nandikar theatre group. The actress was suffering from a kidney-related ailment for a while. On May 22, Swatilekha was admitted to a private hospital in Salt Lake and later was shifted to another hospital. Film director Buddhadev Dasgupta dies at his residence in South Calcutta.
