Tanushree Dutta Alleges Ongoing Harassment Since #MeToo, Appeals for Urgent Intervention

Mumbai, July 23, 2025 — Bollywood actor and #MeToo whistleblower Tanushree Dutta has released a series of emotional videos on social media, alleging persistent harassment at her residence since her 2018 sexual harassment complaint against veteran actor Nana Patekar. In a tearful appeal posted Tuesday evening, Dutta urged authorities and the public to “do something before it’s too late,” claiming her safety and mental health are at serious risk.

In the video, Dutta stated, “I’m being harassed in my own home. I just called the cops… I’m not well. I’ve been harassed so much in the last 4–5 years that my health has deteriorated.” She further alleged that she has been unable to hire domestic help due to “planted maids” who have stolen from her and created a toxic living environment.

Dutta also shared disturbing details of loud noises and unwanted intrusions at odd hours, which she claims have been ongoing since 2020. “I got tired of complaining to the building management and gave up a few years ago,” she wrote, adding that she now copes by listening to Hindu mantras through headphones to maintain her sanity.

The actor revealed she suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome, which she attributes to prolonged stress and anxiety. She confirmed that she has contacted the police and intends to file a formal complaint in the coming days.

Tanushree Dutta first made headlines in 2018 when she accused Nana Patekar of sexual misconduct on the sets of Horn Ok Pleasss (2008), sparking India’s #MeToo movement. Although Patekar was later cleared of the charges, Dutta has continued to speak out against systemic harassment and the lack of accountability in the entertainment industry.

Her recent videos have triggered widespread concern online, with many fans and public figures expressing solidarity and urging swift action. As of now, there has been no official statement from law enforcement regarding her latest complaint.
