Teja Sajja’s Fantasy Epic ‘Mirai’ Set for OTT Debut on JioHotstar in November

Hyderabad, India — Following a blockbuster theatrical run, Teja Sajja and Manchu Manoj’s Telugu fantasy action film Mirai is poised for its digital premiere on JioHotstar in early November 2025. The film, which released in cinemas worldwide on September 12, has garnered widespread acclaim for its ambitious storytelling, high-end visual effects, and mythological depth.

Directed and co-written by Karthik Ghattamneni, Mirai blends historical fiction with fantasy, centering on nine sacred books created by Emperor Ashoka that hold the power to grant immortality. The narrative follows Ved (Teja Sajja), an orphaned warrior destined to protect the divine staff “Mirai” from the villainous Mahaveer Lama (Manchu Manoj), who seeks to harness its cosmic energy for destruction.

The film’s ensemble cast includes Shriya Saran, Ritika Nayak, Jagapathi Babu, and Jayaram. Shriya Saran plays Ambika Devi, the guardian of the sacred texts, while Ritika Nayak’s portrayal of Vibha breaks conventional female lead stereotypes with a strong, action-driven role.

Mirai opened to an estimated ₹12 crore on its first day across all languages, with Telugu regions recording over 68% occupancy and peaking at 83% during night shows. The film’s theatrical success has translated into high anticipation for its OTT release. Industry sources confirm that JioHotstar acquired the streaming rights for approximately ₹40 crore, with the digital launch expected eight weeks post-theatrical release.

The film’s technical excellence is credited to Ghattamneni’s dual role as director and cinematographer, National Award-winning editor Sreekar Prasad, and international stunt coordinators Kecha Khampakdee and Pradeet Seelum. The VFX, supervised by Ramji Dott and executed by PMF VFX and Deccan Dreams, has been praised for elevating the film’s scale and immersive quality.

Produced by T.G. Vishwa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, Mirai is being hailed as one of the most ambitious Telugu releases of the year. With its OTT debut on JioHotstar slated for November, audiences who missed the theatrical experience—or wish to revisit its grandeur—can soon stream the film from the comfort of their homes.
