Two Decades of Magic: Shah Rukh Khan Celebrates 20 Years of Red Chillies VFX

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is celebrating a major milestone today—not for a film release, but for the studio that has redefined Indian cinema’s visual landscape. Red Chillies VFX, the visual effects arm of his production house, completes twenty years of “creating magic.” The actor took to social media to honor the tireless team that has turned ambitious dreams into cinematic reality. On Wednesday, Shah Rukh Khan shared a nostalgic tribute on X (formerly Twitter) to mark the twentieth anniversary of Red Chillies VFX. Reflecting on the studio’s humble beginnings, the actor credited his “young, fiery team” for their perseverance. He noted that the journey began two decades ago with a simple dream to push the boundaries of Indian filmmaking through technology and imagination.

To mark the occasion, the studio released a nine-minute-and-four-second montage showcasing its evolution. The video features a diverse range of visual masterpieces, from the high-octane action of Jawan to the path-breaking superhero effects in Ra. One to more recent projects like Dunki, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Sikandar. The reel highlights how the studio has supported various creators in giving “wings to their dreams” across different genres. The studio has grown from a specialized unit into a global powerhouse, providing world-class visual effects not only for Shah Rukh Khan’s home productions but also for several major Indian and international projects. The celebration comes at a time of high anticipation for the actor’s next venture, King. Directed by Sidharth Anand, the film is expected to be another VFX-heavy spectacle. Slated for a Christmas 2026 release, King marks a significant moment as it will feature Shah Rukh Khan alongside his daughter, Suhana Khan, in her theatrical debut. The film also boasts a stellar cast, including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, and Jaideep Ahlawat.

As the teaser for King hints at a gritty, gangster-themed narrative, fans are eager to see how Red Chillies VFX will elevate this next chapter of Shah Rukh Khan’s career. For now, the industry stands in applause for a studio that has spent twenty years ensuring that in Indian cinema, anything the mind can imagine, the screen can capture.
