UP CM Birthday ‘Ajey: The Untold Story of a Yogi’ to hit cinemas on August 1

The upcoming biopic Ajey: The Untold Story of a Yogi is set to hit cinemas worldwide on August 1, 2025. The film is inspired by Shantanu Gupta’s book The Monk Who Became Chief Minister and portrays the journey of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from a spiritual leader to a political figure.

The announcement was made on Yogi Adityanath’s 53rd birthday, accompanied by a new poster featuring actor Anantvijay Joshi in the lead role. The poster showcases him in saffron robes, symbolizing spiritual strength and leadership, with an intense gaze reflecting his determination and conviction.

The film boasts an ensemble cast, including Paresh Rawal, Dineshlal Yadav Nirahua, Ajay Mengi, Rajesh Khattar, Pawan Malhotra, and Garima Vikrant Singh. It is directed by Ravindra Gautam and produced by Ritu Mengi, with a screenplay by Dilip Bachchan Jha and Priyank Dubey. The music is composed by Meet Bros, and Anil Thadani’s AA Films will distribute the movie nationwide.

The film’s announcement on Yogi Adityanath’s birthday was described by producer Ritu Mengi as a heartfelt tribute to his extraordinary life, which has inspired millions. The tagline accompanying the poster reads:
“Jag chhoda, Bhagwa Odha, Seva mein ramm gaya. Ek Yogi — jo akela hi poora aandolan ban gaya!”
(He left the world, donned saffron, and immersed himself in service. A Yogi—who alone became an entire movement!)

This biopic aims to capture the transformation of Yogi Adityanath, highlighting his sacrifices, duty, and dharma, making it a highly anticipated release.
