Uttarakhand, a popular shooting destination among filmmakers, may soon develop a film city of its own with state government officials tasked with identifying suitable land in the hill state for the project.
Special Principal Secretary Abhinav Kumar held a meeting with the Information Department officials at Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s camp office. He asked officials to prepare an action plan to build film industry-related infrastructure and create basic shooting and production facilities, a press release said.
Also, Kumar directed the officials to consult a national-level film training institute and work towards establishing its branch in Uttarakhand.
Universities in Uttarakhand should introduce courses related to films and film-making, Kumar added.
