Varun Dhawan says he too had to struggled in Bollywood

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan made his debut in 2012 with filmmaker Karan Johar’s directorial venture ‘Students of the Year’, he made his debut alongside Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt.

Varun Dhawan son of famous filmmaker David Dhawan, since then faced many criticism and listed in nepotism category.

 Varun in an old interview was seen speaking about his journey in Bollywood, “I knew (that I wanted to be an actor), but I don’t think anyone else believed it… My dad made it very clear and my mom made it clearer to me that he’s never going to launch me. He’s not going to help you be what you want to be, you need to help yourself.”

Further, the actor was asked if he ever had to hide the fact that he was David Dhawan’s son. Varun recalled and said, he would audition as “Rajesh” or “Ramesh” and one day he ended up getting an ad for a cola company. Varun said that once he got the ad on his own merit as a 14-year-old boy, his belief in himself was reinforced.
