Vicky Kaushal express about dealing with anxiety, says ‘senior actor’ told him to ‘master it’

In an interview, actor Vicky Kaushal opened up about his anxiety and insecurity and how he deals with it. Actor Vicky Kaushal has always been quite candid about his journey in the entertainment industry, including his failures. In a new interview with Bazaar India, Vicky opened up about dealing with anxiety and recalled the advice given to him by a ‘senior actor’. Vicky said the best way to deal with anxiety is to accept it, rather than letting it overwhelm you. When asked if he has any advice for the younger generation dealing with similar problems. He said, “The best thing to do for anxiety is to accept it. Indulging in it is its enemy. A senior actor once told me to make anxiety your friend. It will always be there; you just need to master it. Accepting it is a great first step.” The actor said that he feels best when he challenges himself creatively rather than overthinking about things beyond his control. Earlier, in a conversation on Nikhil Taneja’s show Be A Man Yaar, the actor had shared how he was self-critical and had an inferiority complex during college. “I wasn’t bullied or harassed at all, but I had a significant inferiority complex inside me. I think my shyness and fear of crowds often came from that. I was always very skinny and lanky, so I felt I couldn’t fight anyone. Till the age of 20 or 21, I couldn’t even grow a beard. I wanted to go on stage, and I loved performing, but I didn’t know if I could become an actor. I didn’t even think of playing a hero. I just wanted to act. So, these inferiority complexes, I had a lot of them inside me. I was hurting myself so much, why did someone else need to bully me from outside?” he said. Vicky was last seen in Bad Newz alongside Tripti Dimri and Amy Virk. He will next be seen in Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhava, which is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. He also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War; the film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
