Music composer and actor Vijay Antony attended the promotions of ‘Raththam’ a week after the tragic death of his elder daughter Meera Vijay Antony. The actor was present at the film’s press conference along with his second daughter Lara. Fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to praise his dedication to the craft. Director CS Amudhan took to his social media page to inform that Vijay Antony decided to attend the event to cope with his loss.
On September 19, Vijay Antony’s elder daughter Meera committed suicide. She was 16 years old. Vijay Antony, his family and his fans were devastated to hear the news.
On September 28, Vijay Antony resumed work and attended the pre-release event of his upcoming film Raththam’. What caught everyone’s attention was that he attended the event with his second daughter Lara.
Many have applauded Vijay Antony for starting work amid irreparable losses. However, some concerned people questioned whether he was asked to promote the film. Director CS Amudhan, without mentioning his name, revealed that it was Vijay Antony’s way of dealing.
His post read, “Guys I can assure you that for all of us involved in this, promotion of the movie is very low on our priorities… There are things that are beyond our control and affect many people’s lives. Also there is also what the man himself wants and how he chooses to cope.”
