Vijay Verma recently opened up about his skin condition vitiligo – a condition that causes patches of skin to lose color. The actor recently revealed in an interview how he dealt with the situation considering his acting career. The actor recently spoke on the issue at a college event.
Speaking to Times of India, the actor said that he did not make it a big deal. “It’s just a cosmetic thing, and it’s not really something that can change the direction of your life,” the Darlings actor said.
When asked if he faced any setbacks in the industry due to his skin condition in his 12-year-long career, the actor admitted that his condition used to bother him when he didn’t have work. “I would wonder if it would become a hindrance. But since I have been working and seeing a lot of success, it doesn’t bother me”, said the Dahad star.
Talking further about his condition and not keeping it a secret, the 38-year-old actor said, he covers his skin condition only when he has to face the camera. “I don’t want my audience to see anything other than what I want them to see.”
However, for public appearances, he never covered his condition. He said that today people are very intelligent and they also have an innate sense of responsibility. He said that my skin condition was never discussed openly with him. “Maybe if there had been some other time, perhaps this could have become a topic of discussion.”
Vijay Varma is all set to star in Anubhav Sinha’s debut web series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. The Netflix drama also stars Pankaj Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Dia Mirza and Patralekhaa among others.
