Viraj Ghelani state he took ‘revenge’ on Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, instructs followers to bombard the comment section

Influencer and content creator Viraj Ghelani, who made his acting debut with Dharma Productions’ film Govinda Naam Mera, recently shared that he was upset about not being invited to the trailer launch of the project, which stars Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. Viraj said that to take his “revenge”, he asked his followers to shower his name in the comments section of the trailer. Things got so out of control that Dharma officials took notice of it, and they had to call up Viraj and request his followers to stop doing so.
During his appearance on the podcast The Having Said That Show, Viraj recalled his experience on Govinda Naam Mera and said that, “I think they didn’t take me to any trailer launches or all these things because ‘isko kyon leke jayenge?'” When the podcast hosts asked why, Viraj immediately stopped them and said that they won’t make the same mistake now.
“Now they will take me, I’ll state you why. Because I thought ‘why are these people doing this?’ Then I had the power of Instagram, so I went on my social media and said whenever the trailer comes, you all have to go to Dharma’s YouTube channel and just say ‘here for Viraj’. There were around 1250-2000 comments, which just said ‘here for Viraj’,” he shared with a laugh. Viraj added that soon after, he got a call from Dharma to stop it. “I got a call from Dharma, saying ‘please stop this (please stop this)’. I said ‘fuck it, don’t mess with Gujaratis’. It was like my revenge,” he added.
In the film, Viraj played the role of Baldev, the boyfriend of Bhumi Pednekar’s character. Govinda Naam Mera was released directly on Disney+ Hotstar to mediocre reviews. Viraj then appeared in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawaan. On the same podcast, he called it the “worst experience” ever and complained that most of the footage he shot was left on the editing room floor.
