Actress Yami Gautam has joined palms with two NGOs — Majlis and Pari (People Against Rape in India) — to aid victims of sexual assault and to work for their rehabilitation.
“Today with amazing pleasure I would like to share that I have joined arms with two NGOs who are constantly assisting and working closer to the rehabilitation of victims of sexual assault,” Yami said.
She elaborated that women’s security nonetheless has a lengthy way to go and her affiliation with the NGOs for the cause emanates from this very subject.
“The want to work on these issues stems from the women’s safety troubles which nonetheless exist.
While some progress has been made, there’s a lengthy way to go still,” she said. “My affiliation with the NGOs is just the opening and in the near future, I would like to make contributions similarly in helping to procure higher sources to defend and support ladies from all walks of life,” she added.
