Akshay Kumar has come out in support of Salman Khan following the disappointing box office performance of Sikandar. The film, which was expected to be a major hit, failed to meet audience expectations, leading to widespread criticism of Salman Khan’s recent projects.
During a promotional event for his upcoming film Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar was asked about the struggles of big-budget films starring Bollywood superstars. In response, he defended Salman Khan’s enduring stardom, stating, “Dekhiye yeh galat baat hai. Aisa ho nahi sakta. Tiger zinda hai aur hamesha rahega. Salman ek aisi nasal ka tiger hai jo zindagi mein kabhi marr nahi sakta.” (Look, this is wrong. This can’t happen. Tiger is alive and will always remain alive. Salman is the kind of tiger who can never be defeated in life.).
Akshay’s statement comes amid growing concerns about Salman Khan’s box office appeal, with fans urging him to reinvent himself. Some even suggested shelving his upcoming film with Sanjay Dutt, fearing a similar fate as Sikandar.
Salman Khan had previously expressed disappointment over the lack of support from his industry peers, noting that while he actively promotes his colleagues’ films, his own projects rarely receive the same backing. Akshay Kumar’s public endorsement of Salman appears to be a direct response to this sentiment, reassuring fans that Salman’s legacy remains intact despite recent setbacks.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan has already moved on to his next project, an action-thriller with Sanjay Dutt, while Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of Kesari Chapter 2, which is set to hit theaters on April 18.
