Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has strongly condemned India’s Operation Sindoor, calling it a “shameful attack” on Pakistan. The military operation, launched by the Indian Armed Forces, targeted nine terror launch pads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives.
Fawad Khan took to Instagram to express his outrage, stating:
“My deepest condolences to the families of those injured and killed in this shameful attack. Stop stoking the flames with rabble-rousing words. It is not worth the lives of innocent people… May better sense prevail. Pakistan Zindabad!”
His post quickly went viral, but his Instagram handle was blocked in India, preventing Indian users from accessing his statement. Screenshots of his post, however, continue to circulate online.
Several other Pakistani celebrities, including Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, and Mawra Hocane, also condemned the operation. Mahira Khan reposted a tweet criticizing the strikes, calling them “cowardly”, while Hania Aamir described the attack as “cruelty—plain and simple”.
The Indian government defended the operation, stating that it was a “measured, precise, and non-escalatory” strike aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure responsible for the Pahalgam attack. The operation reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 17 terrorists, with 60 others injured.
Indian officials emphasized that no civilian areas or military establishments were targeted, countering Pakistan’s claims that civilians were affected. Bollywood celebrities, including Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, and Rajinikanth, praised the Indian Armed Forces for their zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.
While Fawad Khan’s statement received support in Pakistan, it also sparked backlash from Pakistani fans, who criticized him for not directly blaming India in his post. Some social media users called for a boycott of his upcoming Indo-Pak collaboration film, Abir Gulaal, which was set to release in India on May 9 but now faces indefinite postponement.

Operation Sindoor has further escalated tensions between the two nations, with Pakistan condemning the strikes and India reaffirming its commitment to holding terrorists accountable. The situation remains volatile, with diplomatic responses expected in the coming days.
