Veteran actor Kamal Haasan has postponed the audio launch of his upcoming film ‘Thug Life’, citing the current state of heightened alert due to border tensions between India and Pakistan. The event, originally scheduled for May 16, will now take place at a later, more appropriate time, according to Haasan’s official statement.
In a heartfelt message, Haasan emphasized that national security takes precedence over celebrations. “Art can wait. India comes first. In view of the developments at our nation’s border and the current state of heightened alert, we have decided to reschedule the audio launch of ‘Thug Life’,” he said.
Haasan further expressed solidarity with the armed forces, stating that this is a time for quiet reflection rather than celebration. “As our soldiers stand firm on the frontlines with unflinching courage in defense of our motherland, I believe it is a time for quiet solidarity, not celebration,” he added.
The postponement comes amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, following India’s Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory strike targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The situation worsened after Pakistan attempted missile and drone strikes on Indian military sites, prompting heightened security measures.
