KGF: Chapter 2 Hindi version breaks RRR’s advance booking record, movie bagged ₹20 crore in north before release

Yash-starrer’s upcoming Kannada movie KGF: Chapter 2 has already surpassed SS Rajamouli’s Hindi model RRR’s boost reserving record. The Hindi version of the film has already managed to sell 11 crores of tickets with four days still left before the release. In comparison, RRR’s Hindi model managed to earn just over ₹5 crore with increased bookings. According to alternative analysts, the Kannada film grossed ₹20 crore in North India alone, strengthening bookings in all languages.

According to a tweet by film trade analysis platform Indian Box Office, the movie has already fetched Rs 20 crore tickets in North India, including Rs 11.4 crore for the Hindi version alone. Film Alternatives analyst Taran Adarsh also tweeted about the ‘extraordinary’ craze for the film in the Hindi belt. “KGF 2′ 6 AM shows and more…#KGF2 increase reserving PHENOMENAL. Morning suggests to start as early as 6 am in #Mumbai and #Pune. Ticket fees at select locations: ₹ 1450 / ₹ 1500 per seat [#Mumbai] and ₹ 1800 / ₹ 2000 per seat [#Delhi]. #Toofan is arriving,” study his tweet.

KGF: Chapter 2, directed by Prashant Neil, is the sequel to the 2018 hit KGF: Chapter 1. The first movie grossed ₹250 crore worldwide. Due to the improved craze and absence of major releases for the sequence Outdoor Karnataka, the sequel is expected to surpass this number easily. KGF is the upward push of Rocky (Yash), a smuggler who tries to take over a gold mining empire in the Kolar Gold Fields. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty and Prakash Raj.

KGF: Chapter 2 will hit the screens on April 14. Earlier, the film was expected to face some opposition in the North from Shahid Kapoor-starrer Jersey, which was slated to launch on the same day. However, on Monday, the release date of the jersey was pushed back to April 22. Many insiders speculate that this was done after seeing the massive improvement reserving responses to KGF 2.

The film will still face some competition down south from the Tamil movie Beast, which stars Vijay and Pooja Hegde and releases on April 13. The movie is predicted to outsell KGF Two at least in the Tamil and Telugu language markets. But now the Hindi belt doesn’t have the same visibility as KGF 2.
