Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has clarified that she has no plans to join politics, addressing rumors that surfaced after her recent visits to temples and participation in cultural events. During an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on X (formerly Twitter), a fan asked if she intended to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Preity responded sharply, stating that attending the Maha Kumbh or expressing pride in her identity does not equate to political aspirations.
She emphasized that living abroad has deepened her appreciation for India and its culture. Preity also shared her personal struggles, revealing that she faces constant criticism for raising her children as Hindus, despite her husband Gene Goodenough being agnostic. She expressed frustration over her choices being politicized and said she wants her children to remain connected to their Indian roots.
Preity Zinta, who now resides in Los Angeles with her family, is set to make her Hindi cinema comeback with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947. She is also actively involved in the IPL as the co-owner of Punjab Kings.
