Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has ignited widespread attention with a viral behind-the-scenes video showcasing his rigorous training for the upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops, a pivotal moment in recent military history.
The video, shared by Lakhia on social media, features a blurred silhouette of Khan engaged in high-intensity combat drills. Though the footage lacks clarity, fans quickly identified the actor’s signature movements and physique, fueling speculation and excitement across platforms.
Khan is set to portray Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment, who lost his life during the Galwan confrontation. To embody the role authentically, Khan has reportedly adopted a strict regimen involving high-altitude training, outdoor resistance workouts, and a disciplined diet devoid of processed carbs and alcohol.
The actor’s transformation includes a leaner physique, a military-style moustache, and short hair, aligning with the character’s real-life persona. His dedication to the role has been widely praised, especially following the lukewarm reception of his previous film Sikandar.
Joining Khan in the cast is actress Chitrangda Singh, who plays the female lead. Director Apoorva Lakhia expressed enthusiasm about her inclusion, citing her ability to balance strength and sensitivity—qualities essential to the film’s emotional depth.
Filming is scheduled to take place across Mumbai, Ladakh, and Kashmir, with the release date yet to be announced. The motion poster, already unveiled, depicts Khan in a bloodied, battle-ready avatar, further heightening anticipation.
Battle of Galwan is poised to be one of the year’s most awaited releases, blending real-life heroism with cinematic intensity. As Khan continues his preparation, fans eagerly await further glimpses into this tribute to valor and sacrifice.
