Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ Music Rights Head For Record-Breaking Rs 50 Crore Deal Ahead Of Christmas 2026 Release

The King of Bollywood is back to rule, and this time the buzz isn’t just around his film.

Shah Rukh Khan, one of Indian cinema’s biggest global superstars, is reportedly in final negotiations for a landmark music rights deal for his upcoming action thriller King, directed by Siddharth Anand. After dominating 2023 with back-to-back blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan, SRK is set to return to theatres this Christmas with what’s already being called one of the most anticipated films of 2026.

According to sources close to the development, the music of King has become one of the hottest properties in the industry this year. With the popular composer duo Sachin-Jigar scoring the album, top music labels are locked in a fierce bidding war.

“With Sachin-Jigar on board, the soundtrack for King is being treated as a premium asset. Sony Music, Saregama and T-Series are all in the race with massive offers. The leading bid right now is around Rs 50 crore,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

If finalized, this would make King the third biggest music deal in recent times, only behind the two-part epic Ramayana and Dhurandhar 2.

“King is rewriting the rules for non-theatrical revenue. It’s about to close one of the biggest deals ever for an original Hindi film album. For context, Ramayana secured Rs 75 crore for both parts combined. King is on track to get Rs 50 crore for just one film,” the insider added.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is slated for a big Christmas 2026 release. The film is in its final stages of production with approximately 15 days of shoot still pending. Meanwhile, post-production and editing work are progressing at full pace to meet the holiday deadline.

The combination of SRK’s unmatched star power, Siddharth Anand’s high-octane direction, and Sachin-Jigar’s chartbuster music has already created massive pre-release excitement. With record-breaking music and non-theatrical deals in the works, King is shaping up to be one of Bollywood’s biggest tentpoles.
