Over 20 years after Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar’s intimate wedding, their unique ceremony still charms fans. Renowned mehndi artist Veena Nagda recently recalled how Twinkle herself called her just a day before the wedding, keeping the bride’s identity a secret until the last moment. The mehndi was applied early in the day and removed by evening, leaving Veena worried it wouldn’t darken in time. But to everyone’s surprise, Twinkle excitedly called the next day saying, “It’s so dark now!”
The wedding was kept low-key, attended by around 50 guests, and full of quirky last-minute twists—including a surprise appearance by Dimple Kapadia at the door. Twinkle and Akshay are now parents to two children, Aarav and Nitara.
