After returning Rs 44 lakh to the Enforcement Directorate, Tollywood actor Bonny Sengupta told Millennium Post that “actions speak louder than words” (ED). Kuntal Ghosh, the expelled Trinamool Party youth leader who is presently being held in detention for his alleged role in the West Bengal teacher recruitment scandal, was the source of the money, according to a previous statement made by Bonny. The Enforcement Directorate questioned the Bengali actor twice after he made his Tollywood debut in 2014’s Borbaad, a film directed by Raj Chakraborty. He had acknowledged taking the cash from Ghosh in 2017 to purchase a luxury vehicle. The Parbona Ami Charte Toke actor added that he paid back the loan by appearing in at least 20 of Ghosh’s events.
